Thank you Oprah!

While running on a treadmill at my health club this week I watched an amazing Oprah show.  The show featured very special people who were giving back to those less fortunate.

It made me look back over my life and realize how very fortunate I am.  My name is Elizabeth Ferrari and I grew up in a family of six children.  My parents came over from Ireland with very little.  By working extremely hard they were able to provide for all of us.  We always had food, shelter, good educations and tons of love.  Even though we were never rich we never wanted for anything.  When our birthdays came around mom prepared a special meal, a delicious cake and we all were lucky enough to receive a few presents.

Life was good!  In 1999 I was going through a divorce and needed to make a decent living for myself and my two wonderful daughters.  Since I’ve always loved children and had an education in Early Childhood I started Kreative Kreations.  I was amazed when my company actually took off.  Kreative Kreations offers unique birthday parties and classes all over the Chicago area.  Watching Oprah I started to realize how fortunate I am and I also started thinking how little I was doing for others.

With the economy so trying for many these days, I am fortunate to be able to pay all my bills, fill up my gas tank, help provide for my children and make their birthdays very special each year.  This made me wonder how many children in my area are not so fortunate. My birthday doesn’t matter to me so much anymore, but to a child it’s a day they look forward to all year long.

Recently Kreative Kreaations was hired to provide a party for a seven year old girl on the North shore.  The party included sixty-six of her closest friends.  Although a party like this made us a nice some of money it made me wonder about the children who don’t even get one gift to open.  So what happens to all the moms and dads who adore their children and are not able to make the day special due to economic reasons?

I’ve come to a realization that they need our help.  This is the reason I’ve started Birthday Wishes. Those of us who are fortunate to be getting by in these hard economic times need to come together and help those who are struggling.

Every boy and girl deserves a special birthday.  If you are a person who is having a hard time you can log on to our web site and make a special birthday present wish for your child.

If you’re a person that has the means to make a child’s day special then please log on and make the choice to put a smile on a child’s face.

We are asking that the birthday wish list include several gifts all under fifty dollars.  For those who are kind enough to make a child’s day special you will need to purchase  one gift from the list, wrap it and mail it to the parent in need so they will receive it  before their child’s special day.

If you would like to help and don’t have time to shop you can also mail a donation To Kreative Kreations and we will be happy to shop and mail a gift for you. Our plan is to start with DuPage County and if we end up with enough generous people, some day we can make this a nation wide project.

If you do not have access to a computer you can call Kreative Kreations at 630 231-1204 and we will be happy to assist you. If you would like to know more about Kreative Kreations, donate a gift, send a monetary donation or are a person in need of our assistance visit our web site at www.Kreative-Kreations.com.

Please open your heart and help us make Birthday Wishes a dream come true for a child in need. Let’s make a difference together!
